We love our volunteers. Hundreds of people give a few hours or many days every year to help with almost every aspect of what we do.
The Wells Reserve at Laudholm offers a stimulating environment for volunteers to work and grow. We have opportunities to fit almost any talent, interest, or schedule.
Be at the "center" of it all at our busy summertime hub in the farmhouse. Attendants answer the phone and greet visitors, fielding questions, and directing people toward experiences they'll enjoy. Time commitment is 2 or 3 hours on weekdays, 2 to 4 times per month. Orientation and training provided.
Walk the trails on weekends from mid-May through mid-November. Rangers are a resource to our visitors, carry a radio in case of emergencies, watch the condition of trails, encourage visitors to adhere to regulations, and monitor nesting piping plovers.
Greet visitors as they arrive at the Wells Reserve. Take and record admission fees and give out information about the happenings of the day.
Guide school groups in our established programs or lead summer tours for visitors. Volunteer docents are the spark, engaging visitors of all ages in creative ways! Bring your curiosity and love of learning. We'll provide training in a supportive community. Weekday availability is a must.
